
Regulations
1. Eligibility
1.1. Participants must be 19 years of age or older as of the event start date (August 23, 2026). (Those born before August 23, 2007 )
1.2. Participants must have experience cycling on unpaved terrain and the stamina to complete long distances over several days.
2. Check-in, luggage storage/return
2.1. All participants must check in at the location and time designated by the organizer before the start of the ride.
2.2. Participants must present a photo ID (e.g. passport ) when checking in.
2.3. The organizer specify mandatory equipment to be inspected at check-in, and participants without the mandatory equipment will be denied check-in.
* Mandatory equipment : GPS device(or smartphone app), water purifier , whistle , lantern , rainjacket
2.4. Participants must submit a pledge.
2.5. Anyone who participates as a proxy or through other fraudulent means will be denied check-in. The organizer will not be responsible for any damages suffered by the participant as a result, and the participation fee will not be refunded.
2.6. The organizer will provide luggage storage services during the event. Participants are limited to storing one piece of luggage per person. When returning luggage, you must present your number.
3. Rules
3.1. Each stage begins at the start gate and ends at the finish gate. Participants must check in at the start area 10 minutes before the start of each stage. Participants who do not check in for the start will be considered as “Non-finisher”. Participants must go to the operation table after passing through the finish gate and record their number. This serves as the basis for the time limit in Article 3, Paragraph 4 of this Regulations.
3.2. Participants must attach a number on their bicycle at all times.
3.3. Participants must use a GPS device(or smartphone app) to ensure they are riding the correct course. We strongly recommend using both. There are no course guides on the course, and it is the participant's sole responsibility to find the correct course.
3.4. Each stage has a time limit to complete. The time limits for each stage are as follows:
Stage 1 - 8 hours
Stage 2 - 8 hours
Stage 3 - 8 hours
Stage 4 - 10 hours
Stage 5 - 7 hours
Notwithstanding the above time limit, the organizer may adjust the time limit as circumstances require.
3.5. Finisher, Overtime finisher, and Non-finisher
Participants who complete all stages within the time limit for each stage are considered "Finisher".
If you finish a stage after exceeding the time limit, you will be considered an “Overtime finisher”.
Participants who abandon the ride or receive assistance from other means of transportation will be considered “Non-finisher”. "Non-finisher" in a certain stage, you can still participate in the next stage.
3.6. This is a self-supported event. Participants are responsible for providing and transporting their own food, lodging , and cycling equipment. They are also responsible for any bike repairs.
3.7. If a participant withdraws, the organizer will endeavor to arrange transportation for the participant, and the participant will be responsible for any costs incurred.
4. Leave No Trace
4.1. Participants are required to adhere to the seven principles of 'Leave No Trace'. For more information, visit https://lnt.org/ .

5. Limitation of Liability
5.1. Including bikepacking, inherently carry risks. Participants are responsible for their own safety on the Malchin Trail and ride at their own risk.
5.2. Participants should ensure that they are physically and mentally prepared for this type of bicycle riding.
5.3. The organizer is not responsible for any personal injury, damage to personal property, or other circumstances that may occur to individual riders while cycling the Malchin Trail route.
5.4. Participants, your heirs, executors, and administrators agree to waive all claims for personal injury and/or damages that you may have against the organizer for any injury that may occur while you are participating in the Malchin Trail.
6. Portrait rights, use of video footage, and accompanying photographer
6.1. By participating in the event, participants agree to the use of their likeness. Their name and voice may be included in photographs, videos, or other media produced during or after the event for promotional purposes without compensation.
6.2. Participants may not use any photos, videos, or other visual materials provided by the organizer for commercial purposes other than personal use.
6.3. Participants may not bring personal photographers without prior arrangement with the organizer. If this is necessary, please contact with the organizer in advance.
7. Cancellation Policy
7.1. Cancellations after application for participation are not permitted, regardless of the reason. We are unable to offer refunds however, we do provide the option to transfer entry from one person to another. This must be requested by the 10th July 2026 and it is the participant’s responsibility to find a replacement.
7.2. Information regarding the transfer must be sent to malchintreail@gmail.com, using the email address provided when registering for transfer. The transfer request must include all of the information regarding the replacement party to be valid. Transfer requests containing incomplete information are invalid.
8. Insurance
8.1. Participants must purchase insurance covering the entire event period (or insurance covering injuries resulting from sports activities) and submit a certificate of insurance in English to the organizer before check-in.
8.2. The organizer does not provide personal insurance to participants.
